The film was realised under the guidance of the producer Sebastian Petersen and the talented cast and crew.
Filming started 7pm the Friday — which included writing, directing, producing and editing — until Sunday 8 September 2024. It was teamwork in the truest sense of the word!

Athlone ’85 tells the story of a student’s rebellious actions during the 1985 anti-apartheid uprising on the Cape Flats. His actions result in horrible consequences for his family, girlfriend, friends, and community, but ultimately contributes to the establishment of a free and democratic South Africa.

The Gemini Twins films new afrikaans TV drama series called Die Hulp (The maid) is set in the Western Cape west coast town of Vredendal. The story revolves around human trafficking. Women from rural western Cape towns are brought to the city of Cape Town with promises of lucrative domestic work, only to discover a world of exploitation, vice and abuse.
